
Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), paid an official visit to the Civil Security Department (CSD) Headquarters in Moratuwa on Tuesday (Feb 11). This marks his first visit to the CSD since assuming office.
Upon arrival, the Deputy Minister was warmly received by the Director General of the CSD, Major General (Retd) Palitha Fernando.
During a subsequent discussion with CSD directors and senior officers, the Deputy Minister was briefed on the department’s ongoing responsibilities and future strategic plans. Addressing the members of the CSD, he commended their invaluable contributions to national development and the economy.
Addressing all staff at the headquarters, the minister underscored the importance of working together as citizens and public servants, setting aside differences to effectively implement the government’s initiatives and meet public expectations. Emphasizing the values of cooperation, unity and transparency, the minister stated that integrating practical alignment into one’s service role is essential for building a prosperous nation and enhancing the quality of life for the Sri Lankan people as achieving the objectives of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ program.
As part of his visit, the Deputy Minister attended an official gathering at the CSD headquarters, where he engaged in cordial discussions with department members. Additionally, he held a focused discussion with the Director General on key mutually important matters.
To mark the occasion, a traditional exchange of souvenirs took place. Concluding his visit, the Deputy Minister penned a note in the visitor’s book, expressing his appreciation for the department’s dedication and service.
