
The Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) met the Indian Raksha Rajya Mantri (Minister of State for Defence) Shri Sanjay Seth in India, yesterday (Feb 12). The meeting took place during the ongoing Aero India 2025 air show in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Discussions were primary focused on enhancing defence cooperation and exploring collaborative opportunities in the aerospace and security sectors. They both acknowledged the importance of fostering strong bilateral relations and shared insights on potential joint initiatives mutually beneficial to both nations.
To mark the meeting, mementoes were exchanged, symbolizing the mutual commitment to strengthening defence ties. The discussions were further enriched by the presence of diplomatic officials.
In a separate occasion the SL Defence Secretary met the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the Indian Air Force Training Command (TC) Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, on the same day.
They involved in a fruitful discussion focusing on matters of mutual interests in the defence sector, highlighting their shared commitment to enhancing training opportunities and advancing operational readiness. The meeting ended with the exchange of mementos.
