HL-FRAC Convenes to Strengthen Coordination and Transparency in Foreign Relief Assistance

The eighth session of the High-Level Committee for Foreign Relief Aid Coordination (HL-FRAC) was convened on 21 January at the Office of the Deputy Minister of Defence. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination, transparency, and efficiency in the management of foreign relief assistance, with particular attention to disaster preparedness and the equitable distribution of supplies to affected communities.

Special emphasis was placed on the progress of the centralized disaster-related data entry system, which ensures accurate information flow and effective coordination of aid received from 22 foreign countries and the World Food Programme (WFP). The committee also reviewed ongoing audit activities to ensure transparency and proper utilization of donated supplies.

Discussions covered enhancing inter-agency coordination for data collection, improving administrative and infrastructure capacity at the National Disaster Relief Services Centre (NDRSC) warehouse, and restoring access roads to support efficient relief distribution. Updates were provided on the central data integration mechanism, along with progress in training district and divisional secretariat officials on system data entry. Senior government officials and representatives from relevant agencies attended the meeting, highlighting collaborative efforts to improve relief management.
