Iranian Ambassador calls on Sri Lanka Defence Secretary

The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sri Lanka  His Excellency Mr. Hashem Ashjazadeh  paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary Gen. Kamal Gunaratne at  the Defence Headquarters Complex, Sri Jayewardenepura, Kotte, today (March 03).

During the session, both high officials discussed matters of bilateral cooperation. Ambassador Ashjazadeh  expressed his willingness to work towards  strengthening the  existing ties  between the two countries.

Signifying the occasion, the Defence Secretary and the Iranian Ambassador exchanged mementos and gifts.

Military Liaison Officer Maj. Gen. Dinesh Nanayakkara, Defence Attaché of Iranian Embassy in Sri Lanka  Col. Homayoun Aliyari and Counsellor Mr Soheil Kheiri were also present at the meeting.
